Arrival Time: Check in time is between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Check in after 6 p.m. is possible by prior arrangement only. Contact the Innkeepers at 515-292-2474.
Parking: We have private off-street parking to accommodate all guests.
Departure Time: Check out time is 11 a.m. You are welcome to leave your car in our parking lot if you would like to spend some additional time walking around campustown after check out.
Minimum Night Stays: We do require multi-night stays during certain times of the year. If there is a required minimum nights stay, that information will be displayed at time of booking your reservation.
Rates: Rates are for single or double occupancy and include our sumptuous, Continental Plus buffet breakfast. All rates are subject to change without notice. Rates also are subject to the 5% State of Iowa excise tax and a 7% hotel/motel tax.
Extended Stay Discount: Guests booking 30 continuous nights or more receive a 35% discount off the regular rate. The discount will be automatically applied when booked. If you try to book an extended stay and no rooms are identified, please call the innkeepers for assistance.
Meals: A nice Continental Plus buffet breakfast is included in the rate for guests. Guests of guests are also welcome for $10.00, please give our innkeepers advance notice so we have enough for all to enjoy. If additional meals are needed, we are able to assist in arranging catering services.
Occupancy: We allow a maximum of 2 people per room (note that suites 301 and 303 are two room suites for a 4 person maximum)
Children: Well behaved children are welcome at Iowa House, they do count towards the maximum per room. We suggest that you book suites 301 or 303 which have a spiral stair that brings you up to a loft with a futon that sleeps two. The loft has its own 15” flat screen where DVD’s and game systems can be hooked up!
Pets: We are sorry that we are unable to accommodate pets.
Smoking: We are a non-smoking property. Smoking inside the Inn will result in an immediate request to leave, in addition to any damage fees, a cleaning fee of $250 will be automatically billed to the credit card.
Payment Method: We accept cash, traveler checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Reservation Policy: We require a deposit equal to 100% of the quoted rate. You may use a credit card to secure your room.
Cancellation Policy: Please note that our Reservation and Cancellation Policies are a vital part of managing a small historic inn.
General: If you choose to cancel your stay with us, we will be happy to refund your deposit, less a $25 service charge per room, provided that you give more than two weeks notice. Within two weeks, and up to 2 days before your arrival date, we will refund the deposit if we are able to re-rent the room for the same rate. A $25 service charge per room will apply. If you cancel after 6 p.m. 2 days prior to your arrival date, you will lose your deposit for the entire stay. Early departures are regarded as cancellations.
Special Events or Large Party: For football weekends and other special events, or when you or your party reserve more than one room, we will refund your deposit, less a $25 service charge, provided that you give more than 30 days notice. Within 30 days, and up to 2 days before your arrival date, we will refund the deposit if we are able to re-rent the room for the same rate. A $25 service charge per room will apply. If you cancel after 6 p.m. 2 days prior to your arrival date, you will lose your deposit for the entire stay. Early departures are regarded as cancellations.
