Iowa House Policies
1. CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is between 3pm and 10pm. Check-out time is 11 am. Please advise us if you desire early Check-In or late Check-Out and we'll make every effort to accommodate your request. You may be asked for a driver's license or other identification at Check-In.
2. PARKING: Private off-street parking is included for Iowa House guest use.
3. RATES: Rates quoted or shown on the booking pages include breakfast and are for double or single occupancy. Book your stay securely online using either the availability search by date or the availability calendar.
- Additional guests are $15 each which includes breakfast.
- Additional guests using our Frontgate EZ Bed (air mattress bed) are $35 including breakfast.
- Children are included in the guest count.
- Room tax is 12% which includes 5% State of Iowa excise tax plus 7% local hotel-motel tax.
- Guests of guests are welcome for breakfast by prior arrangement for $10 each plus 7% local tax.
- There is no charge for WiFi (high speed internet) or for our guest use computer.
- Please ask about group, government, commercial or extended-stay rates.
- All rates are subject to change without notice.
3. ROOM ASSIGNMENTS: We can not absolutely guarantee room assignments, however we always make every effort to comply with your request. To discuss your room assignment please feel free to contact us.
4. SPECIAL EVENTS: For certain events like some football weekends, VEISHEA or ISU graduation(s) we offer no discounts, rates may be higher than regular rates, and we may require two or three-night minimum stays.
5. LOW DEMAND PERIODS and EXTENDED STAYS: For lower rates, please check the availability calendar and/or call about discounts. Extended stays of 32 or more continuous nights pay no state sales tax or hotel-motel tax and may receive substantial discounts off the regular rate. Please call us for booking assistance.
5. DINING ROOM and CHAPTER ROOM: Common areas are for use by all Iowa House guests however, guests may may request private use at the innkeeper's discretion. Private use periods may not exceed five hours and shall normally occur between the hours of 8am and 9pm. Please inquire about rental charges.
6. CHILDREN: The Iowa House is not child-proof! Well-behaved children under adult supervision are welcome. By accepting Iowa House "Terms and Conditions" guests agree per IA Code 137C.25A. that the "amount due...for the cost of any damages caused by minor(s) will be charged to their credit card.
7. PETS: We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
8. NO SMOKING: By booking your room you acknowledge that we are a non-smoking property and agree that smoking anywhere inside the house will result in immediate eviction without refund and that all damage charges plus a minimum clean up fee of $250 will be billed to your credit card. Smoking areas are available outside the house.
9. PAYMENT: We accept cash, travelers checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
10. PRIVACY: It is our intent to respect your privacy. We built our site using Intuit Website Services, incorporating the secure Rezovation credit card booking engine. When you browse this site it is not our intention to collect personally identifiable information unless you knowingly and voluntarily provide it to us.
11. RESERVATION DEPOSIT: We require a deposit equal to 100% of the quoted rate plus tax. Guests may use a credit card to book and pay online.
12. CANCELLATION:
A. Most situations: With 15 or more days’ notice, we’ll cancel your reservation(s) and refund your deposit(s) less $25 per room service charge. Within 14 days and two days of your arrival date we’ll refund the balance of your deposit less $25 per room if we can re-rent the room(s) for the same rate. If you cancel after 6 p.m. two days prior to your arrival date, you will forfeit your deposit for the entire stay. Early departures and "No-Shows" are regarded as cancellations.
B. Special Event or Groups: With 30 or more days’ notice we’ll cancel your reservation(s) and refund your deposit(s) less $25 per room service charge. Within 30 days, and five days of your arrival date, we’ll refund the balance of your deposit(s) less $25 per room if we can re-rent the rooms at the same rate. If you cancel after 6 p.m. five days prior to your arrival date, you will lose your deposit for the entire stay. Early departures and "No Shows" are regarded as cancellations.
