Built in 1924 as Iowa State's "Sigma Sigma Delta Chi" fraternity house, Iowa House features a unique double facade. One faces Hayward Avenue and the other faces Knapp Street. The steeply pitched complex hip roof is intersected by lower gables. The Knapp facade has a porte-cochere (covered coach entrance) with a front gable roof. Iowa House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places

Iowa House is a natural for visitors from both home and abroad. Great for quiet getaways, the house hosts sorority and fraternity reunions, wedding groups, family gatherings, retreats, small certification classes and extended stays.
